Michael J. Fox Has "Hope" After Election
President-elect Barack Obama could bring good news to one famous sufferer of Parkinson's disease, reports Access Hollywood.
Michael J. Fox released a statement to Access stating that Obama's commitment to reinstituting stem cell research fills him with hope.
"With Obama's election, this country is reveling in a newfound sense of hope," Fox said in the statement.
Fox continued saying that Obama's win could mean a move forward in stem cell research after a long, eight year stall.
"In addition to picking up where we left off eight years ago with the vast potential of stem cell research, we will now surely see a renewed commitment to speeding cures to the millions of people whose lives have been touched by illness or injury."
The actor's foundation has certainly done its share of helping in combating Parkinson's as the Michael J. Fox Foundation has raised a reported $130 million since 2000.
Now, it's up to the government to do its part to help research that could possibly do wonders to help Fox and others like him.
