Michael Jackson’s Body Exhumed?

Jackson’s body needed for court

It seems the "King of Pop" may never get to rest in peace; at least not any time soon. Michael Jackson’s body may have to be dug up as part of his doctor’s legal defense against a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Conrad Murray’s lawyers plan to exhume Jackson’s body from his final resting place as a way to challenge the singer’s autopsy, which ruled an overdose of the sedative Propofol killed him.

The lawyers are hoping to find evidence that the often controversial star could have died from taking other drugs without the knowledge of Murray ahead of his trial next year.

A family friend of the Jackson family told News of the World, “This is a horrifying situation the family have been dreading. They laid Michael to rest and for him to return is just sick.” Lead lawyer Ed Chernoff has already been given permission to re-test samples removed and frozen after Jackson’s death in June 2009.

An insider to the case added, “The tests don't concur with the coroner's findings, they have the start of a strong defense. The logical next step would be to exhume the body to make new tests.”
