Michael Jackson’s Brother, Randy, Hospitalized After Heart Attack
At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Randy Jackson, the brother of the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, was hospitalized in Southern California after experiencing chest pains. He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he received treatment and underwent a series of tests. According to EOnline.com, doctors have confirmed that Jackson suffered a mild heart attack.
The singer’s assistant confirmed the report to E! News, saying, “Randy was admitted to the hospital yesterday, he will be staying overnight. He suffered from a mild heart attack. Thank you for your concern. He is doing as well as expected.” Reportedly, members of the media began swarming the hospital when it was discovered that Jackson was brought there, but Huntington Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Andrea Stalding kept details under wraps.
The one-year anniversary of his brother’s tragic death is scheduled to occur next week and earlier this month, Jackson tweeted about his ongoing attempts to deal with the loss. Jackson wrote, “How do I cope? I have a strong Christian faith & find power in prayer...although this month is hard.”
The 48-year-old appeared in court on Monday along with his family members for Dr. Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter hearing. During his appearance on CNN’s Newsroom last week, Jackson stated that he believes Dr. Murray should be charged with first-degree murder, according to The Associated Press.
