Michael Jackson’s Family Releases Statements About Dr. Murray
Various members of Michael Jackson’s family, including his mother Katherine Jackson and his father Joe Jackson, attended yesterday’s arraignment for Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, faces a potential four-year prison sentence if he is convicted, according to MTV.com. Both of the late Michael Jackson’s parents issued statements at the conclusion of Monday’s court proceedings in response to Murray’s non-guilty plea.
Joe Jackson appeared on CNN’s ‘Larry King Live’ last night and despite the fact that he labeled Murray as a scapegoat involved in a much broader conspiracy than meets the eye, he described his disappointment that the doctor was not being charged with murder. Jackson said, “To me, he's just a fall guy. There's other people, I think, involved with this whole thing. But I think that [if he was] interrogated, he would come clean and tell everything he knows.”
Michael Jackson’s sister, La Toya, echoed her father’s sentiments in regards to her belief that other individuals were involved with various wrongdoings that ultimately resulted in the death of her brother. Katherine Jackson did not agree with the perspectives that her daughter and ex-husband share, clarifying her opinion in a statement that reads, “He's lying. He's guilty. Nobody was there but him. He's just trying to save his own behind. He killed him. He wasn't monitoring him.”
