Michael Jackson Denies Jackson 5 Reunion

The singer denied reports of a reunion, saying that Michael Jackson has no intention of being involved with a reunion.

A day after Jermaine Jackson told the Australian press that a Jackson 5 reunion was in the works and set to include his pop star brothers, Michael Jackson, the self-proclaimed king of pop, issued a statement denying any involvement with such a project, according to Reuters.

"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," Jackson said through a statement issued Thursday.

Jackson also said he was working on "new and exciting projects" for his fans.

Jackson's statement comes after his older brother, Jermaine, announced Wednesday that the brothers were working on a tour they hoped to start next year.

"It is going to be more like a family affair," Jermaine said to the Associated Press. "Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 . . . Michael, Randy and the whole family. . . . We're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year."

The group last toured in 1984, by which time Michael already had a successful solo career.
