Michael Jackson Feature Film to Come Early

Sony Pictures have moved the theatrical release of "Michael Jackson: This Is It" up two days.

In a move worthy of the King of Pop, Sony Pictures is turning Michael Jackson's upcoming movie into a cinematic event.

The release date for "Michael Jackson: This Is It" has been moved from Oct. 30 to the 28th.

The film will have a limited two week run. And in order to capitalize on fan anticipation, tickets will also go on sale Sept. 27.

The picture will contain the previously unseen rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage for Jackson's canceled "This Is It" comeback tour.

"For the first time ever, fans will see Michael as they have never seen him before — this great artist at work. It is raw, emotional, moving and powerful footage that captures his interactions with the 'This Is It' collaborators that he had personally assembled for this once in a lifetime project," film director Kenny Ortega LA Times>said.

Ortega had worked closely with Jackson up to the time of the singer's death, acting as the director for the "This Is It" concerts. He was also Jackson's creative partner during the "Dangerous" and "HIStory" tour.
