Michael Jackson's Auction
Michael Jackson is auctioning 2,000 of his most "prized possessions" from his Neverland Ranch in April. The items up for auction include awards, costumes, the gates to his ranch, his Rolls-Royce, and the iconic white gloves, as reported by gossipgirls.com.
The estimated value of his items is between $1.5 million and $3 million. Darren Julien, president of Julien's Auctions, is in charge of the auction.
"We've never seen a collection that is as extensive and eccentric as his," he said. The catalogue for the collection has filled six books itemizing the items up for auction, according to MTV.com.
What is the reason for this auction? Julien assures it has nothing to do with Jackson's current financial troubles, and that this is something that has been in the works for five months. "This is something Michael is doing of his own free will. He is not being forced into it."
The auction will be broadcast live on TV and the Internet. The showing will be held in Beverly Hills between April 22 and 25.
