Michael Moore's at it again
Are you 18 years of age? Are you an American citizen? Do you have any interest in your money? How are you ever going to pay back those college loans? Just one more question for you, I promise. Are you registered to vote? If you are not registered then may I make a suggestion to you? Register!
If you have no clue about politics but want to get some knowledge, here is a suggestion for you. Read. Put down the remote control. Leave your home. Go to the bookstore or library. Pick up a book. And, if I may make another suggestion, pick up a book written by Michael Moore.
If you are a Republican you may not want to read on. However, if you are still deciding on your views and what to believe, then Moore is some good factual literature with some humor.
Of course, Moore is biased. He has strong beliefs that many don't agree with. However, all of his information - note that I said information and not his thoughts - are backed up with data. He also provides Web sites for you to double-check him.
He has written four books, has done six movies and even had two television shows. He is an award winning moviemaker and knows how to get people's attention.
Moore just signed a deal to publish two more books with Simon & Schuster. The first book, which is scheduled for an October release along with the movie is, "The Official 'Fahrenheit 9/11' Reader." This will be a transcript of the movie along with additional material. The second book, also scheduled to be released before the November election is a collection of letters from troops stationed in Iraq that were written to him. This book is entitled, "Will They Ever Trust Us Again."
For a sampling of letters written to Moore by soldiers in Iraq, check out Moore's Web site, www.MichaelMoore.com. They are moving letters and may shed some new light on all of us who, instead of being at the war, get to watch it on television.
Moore is an Academy Award winner for his documentary "Roger and Me" and all of his books were bestsellers. "Fahrenheit 9/11" broke all kinds of box office records and was the largest grossing documentary.
Take a chance and read what he has to say or go see one of his movies. Whether you hate it or love it, Moore will make you think. And what could be better then that?
