Michael Moore's New Film Free on the Net
Filmmaker and political commentator Michael Moore released his latest film, Slacker Uprising, for free on the Internet on Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Moore said the free release was "a gift for my fans" and hopes it motivates young voters during election season.
"The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters at the polls in November," Moore said.
The film is a documentary of Moore's tour through swing states during the 2004 election that boiled down to Democratic nominee John Kerry running against incumbent President George W. Bush.
Moore called the film a "tribute to the young voters who are going to save this country from four more years of Republican rule."
His previous controversial films include the anti-Iraq War film, Farenheit 9/11, and the Oscar-winning Bowling for Columbine, which attacked the gun industry.
His last film, SiCKO, focused on exposing flaws and corruptions within the United States' healthcare system.
Moore encouraged people to share the film with others, including in classrooms or community centers.
"I don't want to see a dime from this," Moore said.
