Michael Phelps Denies Dating Miss California
Olympic wunderkind Michael Phelps recently denied rumors that he's dating the controversial Miss California runner-up, Carrie Prejean. Prejean is best known for her unfavorable comments toward gay marriage, and the static that surrounds her is not something Phelps wants associated with him.
Stephanie Lysaght of the Los Angeles Times blogged that Phelps's comments neither fully negated nor fully confirmed their relationship. Said Phelps, "I'm single. My private life stays private."
Prejean's open objection to gay marriage led reporters to ask Phelps about where he stands. Us magazine reported that Phelps coyly responded, "That's the cool thing about America everybody has their opinion. I'm not saying I support her. I'm not saying I don't support her."
The less-than-certain answers continue to fuel the rumor mill.
