Michael Phelps Involved in Car Accident
As if getting caught with marijuana was not damaging enough Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps got himself into trouble again Thursday evening. According to PEREZHILTON.COM, Phelps was involved in a car accident in Baltimore.
The swimmer was driving an Escalade at 50 miles per hour when he hit the car in front of him, a Honda Accord, on the corner of Biddle and Calvert Streets. Phelps allegedly ran a red light and was speeding.
The female driver of the Honda was reportedly "shaken up" and taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. Police authorities interviewed Phelps afterwards and revealed that alcohol was not a factor. No citations have yet been given.
Phelps previously had trouble with authorities earlier this year after a British tabloid printed a photo of him using a marijuana pipe. He was suspended from swimming for three months.
