The book, targeting kids between four and eight according to Outsports.com, chronicles Phelps' training regimen.
"It's a fun way for kids to learn and for me to get a lot of different messages out there," Phelps said.
The book will be published by Simon and Schuster, with illustrations of Phelps, his bulldog Herman and coach Bob Bownan by Ward Jenkins.
There is to release date for the book yet, but people are already questioning whether his book will sell after his pot-smoking incident.
