Micheal Cera Next Role: TV Producer

The actor is the executive producer of a FX show

Micheal Cera is developing a TV show for FX called ‘13th Grade.’ The show is about a high-school graduate who takes on a self-improvement path after being dumped by his girlfriend. This premise doesn’t seem much of a departure from Cera’s previous projects, but this time he will stay behind the camera.

Though this role screams "Play me, Michael Cera!" the actor will not take the job, in a move that some consider to be surprising. However, Cera will be making a cameo in the pilot episode. Emily Kapnek, Cera’s production partner, said that, "Michael will guest but he's not going to recur."

‘13th Grade’ is executive produced by Cera, Kapnek, Derek Waters, Naomi Odenkirk, and Mosaic Entertainment. Currently, Cera, Gullivan, Waters, and Kapnek are prepping a script upon which FX will decide whether to greenlight the pilot.

A short film version of ‘13th Grade’ created by Waters and Gullivan in 2009 can be seen on YouTube.
