Michelle Williams walked away a Golden Globe winner on Sunday night.
Williams won the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Golden Globe Sunday night for her role in My Week with Marilyn.
The 31-year-old actress made one of the most memorable and touching acceptance speeches of the night because her biggest “thank you” went to her daughter with the late Heath Ledger, Matilda.
"I consider myself a mother first and an actress second, and so the person I most want to thank is my daughter, my little girl [Matilda Ledger], whose bravery and exuberance is the example I take with me in my work and in my life,” Williams said. “I want to say thank you for sending me off to this job every day with a hug and kiss. I couldn't have done it otherwise.”
She added Matilda has always been her biggest supporter.
“You kept me so excited to come home at night and for suffering through six months of bedtime stories where the princesses were read out loud in a Marilyn Monroe sounding voice,” she continued. "I could go on and on.”
According to MTV News, this is Michelle Williams’ first Golden Globe win. She was nominated twice in the past. First, she was nominated in 2005 for Brokeback Mountain, and in 2010 for Blue Valentine.
