Michelle Williams Makes Her First Statement
Michelle Williams has given her first statement since her ex-fiance, Heath Ledger's death and funeral. She asked that her and her daughter's privacy be respected. "Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken," she stated.
Ledger and Williams lived together in Brooklyn after starting a relationship on the set of their film Brokeback Mountain. Their daughter, Matilda, is two years old.
When Heath was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on the 22nd of January, Williams returned to the Brooklyn apartment with their daughter. She has also decided to take some time off from her film to deal with the death of her former love.
"I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him," Williams stated.
