Michelle Williams Still Struggling to Move Past Heath's Death

Actress Michelle Williams, the ex-girlfriend and mother of Heath Ledger's 3-year-old daughter, Matilda, said she was still grieving over the actor, who passed away in January.

Ten months after the death of her ex-fiance and father of her 3-year-old daughter, actress Michelle Williams said it is still hard to deal with the death of actor Heath Ledger, in an interview with Newsweek, according to People magazine.

Williams's recent interview was the first time she spoke openly about Ledger's death. "It's so sad," Williams said after bursting into tears at the mention of the late actor's name.

"I guess it's always changing," Williams said. "What else can I say? I just wake up each day in a slightly different place - grief is like a moving river."

Ledger passed away in January from an accidental drug overdose. The couple, who were not together at the time of Ledger's death, have a daughter, Matilda.

"It's a strange thing to say, because I'm at heart an optimistic person, but I would say in some ways it just gets worse," Williams said. "It's just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse. That's what I would say."

Williams added she would take time off from her acting career to focus on her daughter.

"I don't want to work while she's in school," Williams said. "I want her to have a routine. I want the plainest, simplest, most ordinary, habituated routine possible."

Williams currently stars in the independent film, Wendy and Lucy.
