Actress Michelle Williams has decided to take some time off of work in order to focus on being a mother.

Williams has a six-year-old daughter by the name of Matilda with late actor, Heath Ledger.

According to Entertainment.ie, Williams told E! News host, Giuliana Rancic, that she had no new projects in the works. "Absolutely nothing. I hope to take some time off, I just want to go back to being a mom for a while," she explained.

Williams recently won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. She has also been nominated for an Oscar for her performance.

The Huffington Post reports that Williams told the Today show that she was busy preparing her daughter for school and forgot that the Oscar nominations were being announced.

Williams has admitted that there was pressure to enter a serious relationship after Ledger passed in January 2008. She had hoped that Matilda would have a sibling close to her age but was unable to do that for her.

Williams does worry that Matilda will have difficulties growing up, not having many memories of her father.

"You know, as hard as certain things have been for me, it's been harder thinking about how things will be for her," Williams explained according to Contact Music. "I have a lot of things that she doesn't, and some of what I have I can give to her - the memories that I have, the objects that I have, the physical reminders that I have, the stories," she continued

Michelle Williams is known for acting in other movies such as Blue Valentine and the popular television series Dawson's Creek.
