Mickey Mouse Knock-Off Spouts Islamic Supremacy

Palestinian militants have taken a leaf from Disney's book of tips for success. The Hamas Islamist group, which runs al-Aqsa television, has introduced a new show, Tomorrow's Pioneers. What is interesting about it is the fact that the show features a Mickey Mouse doppelganger named Farfour. Farfour was created to connect with kids and teach them about Jihad. Farfour sings about AK-47s and death for Jerusalem, apparently in the hope that Islamic militants will have their very own gun-toting fan club.

Israel is not pleased with the Islamic Mickey Mouse. Palestinian Media Watch, which monitors the network, has said that Farfour exploits every opportunity to spout Islamic supremacy and hatred of Israel. But apparently, the show goes too heavy on the political indoctrination to make it very entertaining for kids, with the dancing Mickey rip-off the only real entertainment offered.

Al-Aqsa Network has been compelled to pull the show at the Palestinian government's request. It will be "reviewed," said Palestinian Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti.
