Milano to Star in "Ghostbusters" Video Game
Alyssa Milano, who starred in the hit ABC sitcom, Who's the Boss, and more recently on the Aaron Spelling series, Charmed, will now star in a video game based on the smash 1984 comedy, Ghostbusters.
According to Variety.com, "The 36-year-old 'Charmed' actress is starring alongside the world's most famous paranormal exterminators in 'Ghostbusters: The Video Game.' The upcoming action game, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, features the original film's cast sans [Sigourney] Weaver."
As for the game's plot, the player will become a "Ghostbusters" recruit and join the original team in their quest to destroy enemies like the gargantuan Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and ultimate deity of destruction, Gozer. The game is set after the 1989 sequel, Ghostbusters II, and Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts will all resume their iconic roles.
The Variety.com article goes on to talk about Milano's role in the game, "Milano said she spent one day in the studio voicing the character of Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, the brainy guest curator of a 'World of Gozer' exhibit at the Natural History Museum. 'It's a little tricky because you have no idea what it will look like,' said Milano."
Atari, the game's publisher, plans to release the game on June 16. The game will be able to be played on Playstation 2 and 3, Xbox 360 as well as Nintendo DS, Wii and PC.
