Miley Cyrus: 'I Want to Step Back From Music'

Cyrus is switching gears to focus on films after her June album drops.

The Last Song is not the last of Miley Cyrus on the big screen. In fact, audiences will see a lot more of the triple threat in the future. You just won’t be jamming to any new Cyrus beats for long.

Cyrus told MTV News she’s taking a break from music to focus on her film career, after her June album of course. The upcoming record will have a more Lady Gaga-esque techno vibe Cyrus explained, with a little more pop and a little less country. The switch-up is to avoid being pigeonholed because being “stuck in a rut” is not on the teenager’s to-do list.

“It’s definitely a good summer CD. It’s good to blast in your car,” Cyrus said to MTV. The exact release date and title of the project hasn’t been announced.

Some of Cyrus’ fans may be disappointed to hear her fade from the air waves, but she’ll return again one day.

“I want to continue to do film. Later in life, another record. But for now, I'd like to focus on movies,” Cyrus said.
