'Can't Be Tamed' contains serious messages with pop overtones

Miley Cyrus recently released her new album, Can’t Be Tamed, and she says the songs on it are all about girl power, similar to some of her previous tracks like “The Climb” and “Seven Things.”

Even though her songs may sound like party music or emotional ballads, Cyrus says if you listen closely enough, they also have important underlying messages. Those underlying messages are about female empowerment.

Cyrus told MTV that she believes “Tamed” and “Liberty Walk” are the most empowering tracks on the album.

“It’s just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back,” she said.

The singer’s recommendation for doing this is figuring out what advice makes the best sense in your life. She thinks everyone should figure out what they want out of their life so that no day is wasted.

“Liberty Walk” is an example of a track with a serious, empowering topic, but with a party sound.

Cyrus wrote the song for women stuck in abusive relationships, but it is not a sad ballad.

The 17-year-old said it is a dance and party song, because it is about breaking free.
