Miley Cyrus Sticks By Her Decision Not To Tweet
After upsetting thousands of fans last fall by leaving Twitter (rumored to be at the request of boyfriend Liam Hemsworth), Miley Cyrus has no regrets six months later.
In a recent interview, the teen star said, “I was kind of tired of telling everyone what I’m doing. I hate when I read things and celebrities are complaining like, ‘I have no personal life.’ I’m like, well, that’s because you write everything that you’re doing.”
According to MTV News, Cyrus also went on to say that she realized she was only hurting herself, and she has since felt the benefits of not being online.
“I’m a lot less on my phone, I’m a little bit more social. I have a lot more real friends as opposed to friends who are on the Internet who I’m talking to-which is like not cool, not safe, not fun, and most likely not real. I think everything is just better when you’re not so wrapped up in the Internet,” she said.
Cyrus also offered some advice for her young fans.
“I’m telling kids, don’t go on the Internet, it’s dangerous, it’s not fun, it wastes your life.”
Cyrus also revealed that after Hannah Montana wraps up its fourth and final season, she has no plans to ever play the pop star ever again.
“It’s interesting to leave my security blanket behind. It was such a huge deal in so many kids’ lives,” she said. “Hannah’s wig is out. One will be in a museum, and one will be…burned, or something.”
