Miley Cyrus Tops the Charts

Miley Cyrus hits No.1 without Hannah Montana!

Miley Cyrus has proven that she doesn't need her counterpart, Hannah Montana, to sell records. According to Nielsen SoundScan data, her first non-Hannah album, Breakout, topped the charts at No. 1, selling 371,000 copies its first week out! Coming in close at No. 2 was Sugarland's Love on the Inside, selling 314,000 copies.

Her first two albums, both Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana combos, also topped the Billboard 200. But Breakout topped Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, released last summer, by 45,000.

Breakout is a milestone album for Miley. According to E! Online, it is her first official solo release album, represents her best sales week, and the second-best sales week for a female artist this year!

Miley Cyrus continues to dominate the tween scene. She is set to host the Teen Choice Awards this weekend. Her animated movie, Bolt, premieres in November, the same month as her sweet 16. To add to her list, is the new season of Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, another Hannah Montana movie, set for May 2009, and of course, new soundtracks.
