Miley Cyrus's Alleged Stalker Put In Jail

Disney Channel star's alleged stalker spied on her while filming in Georgia.

Mark McLeod, the 53-year-old man accused of stalking Miley Cryus, was arrested in Tybee Island, Ga., last month and booked on two misdemeanor charges. McLeod was reportedly released just one day after his arrest.

"If we had heard something about this guy supposedly being a stalker or he had been charged with a felony he wouldn't have been released," Chatham County Sheriff Al St Lawrence told the NBC affiliate in Savannah.

McLeod was arrested on June 22 when he was found standing with a crowd watching the taping of Cyrus's movie "The Last Song." According to police, McLeod was making "inappropriate comments" to some of the young girls that were present at the filming. Furthermore, McLeod became violent as he screamed at and fought the officers who tried to arrest him.

McLeod allegedly told officers he had "been camping at Tybee for three or four days and that he had observed Cyrus on her balcony, that he sent her special presents and that he was going to marry Cyrus and even invited the police officer to the wedding."

McLeod is due back in court in September.
