It’s been a pretty tough month for Miranda Lambert.
People reported the country singer has lost her close canine friend, only a few weeks after her father-in-law passed away last month.
The 28-year-old, who tied the knot with husband Blake Shelton last May, took to her Twitter to express how sad she was after one of her dogs, Dixie, was killed in a car accident.
“My best friend, father in law and now my dog Dixie. My dog died Thursday. My parents just told me,” Lambert wrote on Friday. “Headed now to bury my friend of 20 years.”
According to Taste of Country, she tweeted again later thanking her fans for their support.
“I hope what they say is right. ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,’” she wrote.
The “Baggage Claim” singer will most likely make a visit to her hometown of Lindale, Texas to say one last good bye.
She and Shelton are also scheduled to perform at Sunday night’s Super Bowl game in Indianapolis, Ind. to perform “America the Beautiful” together before kick-off.
Let’s hope the rest of 2012 only brings her good news and yes Miranda, we’re sure “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
Hubby Blake would also probably agree.
