Mischa Barton Remains Hospitalized

On Wednesday (July 15), the 23-year-old actress was escorted from her home with an undisclosed medical problem, according to the Associated Press. Barton's publicist, Craig Schneider, stated that she is remaining in the hospital on doctor's orders.

While her hospitalization is a bit of a mystery right now, a friend insists to People Magazine that she saw it coming.

"She has been on a destructive path for a while now," the source told People. "Her drug and alcohol [use] has gotten to a point where it drove people away. I don't think she knows her limits."

Barton pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge in December 2007. She later called it a low point in her life and told Marie Claire magazine in July 2008 that she had sought treatment for her problems.
