Wisdom teeth caused Mischa Barton's July meltdown, the actress said in an interview on "The View," Friday morning.
"It was sort of one of those things that was like a perfect storm," the star of CW's "The Beautiful Life" said. "Everything happened at once."
The actress was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in July after she reportedly experienced a panic attack that led to her being held in the psychiatric ward.
The actress, 23, said her surgery to remove her wisdom teeth went "really badly wrong," leading the medical professionals to drill into her jaw, resulting in immense pain for her.
She was taken to the hospital when they tried to inject her with medication to numb the sensation. Since Barton is "petrified of needles," she experienced a panic attack.
Barton said she is fine and healthy now, and that the whole incident was "blown out of proportion." Since the episode, Barton has reevaluated her life. She moved to New York so that she could distance herself from the temptations and bad influences of Hollywood.
