Miss California Finally Gets Some Support
After Miss California Carrie Prejean was forced in the spotlight for expressing her opinion about gay marriage and then for the leak of her topless photo shoot, it seemed like everyone was against her. Now, she has people on her defense. Governor Sarah Palin, former Miss Teen USA and MTV host, Vanessa Minnillo and boyfriend singer Nick Lachey all support Prejean.
"Of course she should have kept her crown. This is what makes American America. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and you should be able to say your opinion and not be criticized or penalized for it," said Nick Lachey at Maxim's Hot 100 party, according to MTVNews.com.
He added, "If you don't want to know someone's opinion, don't ask the question," he said. "How is someone's opinion wrong?"
Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin, also backed Prejean's right to free speech. "The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable," stated Palin, according to the LATimes.com.
There was controversy to even remove Prejean from her crown, but pageant owner Donald Trump withheld stating that she gave a very honest answer to a very tough question, reported LATimes.com
