Miss California vs. Perez Hilton
Miss California Carrie Prejean would've won the USA title had she not said she is against gay marriage.
Here's the spill.
The beauty pageant contestants are questioned by one of twelve judges in front of a vast live audience. Prejean was lucky and got judge #8, Perez Hilton to fire away.
Hilton, a famous blogger, asked Prejean, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?
"Well, I think that it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other," answered Prejean. "We live in a land that you are able to choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country and in my family I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," before rushing to say, "No offense to anybody out there."
"But, that's how I was raised," she said through a cheering applause.
Hilton then uploaded a video blog, where he went off during his angry speech to Prejean. "She lost not because she doesn't believe in gay marriage," he said, dressed in a green suit. "Miss California lost because she's a dumb b----."
Hilton said that Miss California gave an answer that "alienated so many people."
Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton, was crowned Miss USA 2009.
