Miss USA to be stripped of crown?
The organizers of the Miss USA pageant said they are reviewing the "behavioral and personal issues" of the most recent champ and will decide her fate within a week, according to the Associated Press.
Neither organizers nor Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA organization, would say what Tara Conner did to spark the investigation.
"I can't really talk about it now," Trump said. "But we have to make a decision. There is no question about that," according to the AP.
The website TMZ.com reported that organizers were looking into her behavior, "including her conduct at New York City bars."
Miss USA is considered a role model and therefore must act appropriately, Lark-Marie Anton, spokeswoman for the Miss Universe Organization, which produces the Miss USA pageant, told the AP. Conner is only 20 years old, so underage drinking would be against the law.
"Mr. Trump will make a determination and announcement within the coming week," the organization's president, Paula M. Shugart, said in a statement, and reported by the AP.
