Miss Venezuela Wins Miss Universe

Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, took home the Miss Universe 2009 crown making the fifth win for Venezuela.

Miss Venezuela, Stefania Ferndandez, was crowned Miss Universe 2009 on Sunday, winning the sixth title for her country in the international beauty pageant.

Fernandez is the 58th winner of the beauty pageant, which was broadcast live from the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.

The 18-year-old brunette won the second consecutive title for Venezuela. 2008's Miss Universe, Venezuela's Dayana Mendoza, crowned Fernandez.

The first runner-up was Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee de la Cruz. Australia, Puerto Rico, and Kosovo made up the rest of the top five contestants.

Miss China, Wang Jingyao, was named Miss Congeniality, and Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej, was named Miss Photogenic.

Musical performances included those by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta, and Kelly Rowland.

The televised event was hosted by Billy Bush, co-anchor of "Access Hollywood," and Claudia Jordan, former Miss Rhode Island USA.
