'Mission: Impossible 4' is Going into Action

Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams back on board.

Paramount has signed a deal with Tom Cruise to have him return as Ethan Hunt in a fourth Mission: Impossible film, says Deadline Hollywood.

Cruise and Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams will be producing the new film and are in search of a new director, presumably because Abrams is hard at work on the next Star Trek film. (He better be, anyway!) Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec are already on board to write the script. Both writers' previous writing credits include the American adaptation of Life on Mars and Abrams' own Alias.
