Tom Cruise’s career is far from over. His latest film, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, is now the top-grossing film of Cruise’s long career.

According to Deadline, the film will reach $603 million, topping Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds remake, which made $591.7 million in 2005.

The film was a continuation of Cruise’s long relationship with Paramount, having starred in several big hits for the studio. In the past 15 years, five of Paramount’s top ten grossing films have featured Cruise. Only Titanic, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Forrest Gump and Iron Man 2 have made more money than M:I 4.

Cruise worked hard to make the film a global success, touring nine countries on six different continents to promote it. Agence France-Presse reports that it has already grossed 157 million yuan, which is about $24 million, in its first weekend. That is an estimated five times more than M:I III’s opening weekend in 2006.

As Digital Spy notes, it looks like the 50-year-old actor will not slow down. "I'm just going to keep going, as long as I can do it. I love making action movies,” he recently said.

In fact, in June, Cruise will star in Warner Bros.’ film adaptation of Rock of Ages. In 2013, he will appear in One Shot and We Mortals Are. Other projects lined up include Oblivion and All You Need Is Kill.
