Model Sues Google for Defamatory Remarks

Libel strikes again.

Former Vogue model Liskula Cohen has sued Google for a number of insulting comments made by a blogger through their subsidiary, blogger.com.

According to the Washington Post, the blogger, who goes by liveandlove, called Cohen a "skank" and "an old hag" who "may have been hot ten years ago."

The New York Daily News reported that the blogger made further hurtful remarks such as, "Desperation seeps from her soul, if she even has one."

Cohen, who has modeled for Giorgio Armani and Versace, and who received media coverage last year when a Manhattan doorman was arrested for smashing her in the face with a vodka bottle, filed the defamation suit in Manhattan.

"We think we have a case," said her attorney Steve Wagner. "This is libelous, it's defamatory and you shouldn't just get away with this."

The suit seeks a court order to demand Google and blogger.com to identify the anonymous blogger.

One can wonder whether Cohen's actions are out of real concern or for attention - or both.
