Moore's Movie Released Early on the Internet
Michael Moore's documentary "Sicko" has been facing severe scrutiny in the weeks coming up to its release. The documentary details the American healthcare system and makes a case for socialized medicine. With only two weeks left until the movie is officially released in the theaters, it was leaked on to the internet. Internet piracy is a huge problem for the industry and authorities can't seem to get a handle on it, no matter how hard they try. It was even made a criminal offence and it doesn't seem to deter the people who contribute to it. "We are responding aggressively to protect our film ... but from our research it is clear that people interested in the (healthcare) movement are excited to go to the theater so they can be part of the experience and fight to reform healthcare," said Sarah Rothman, a Weinstein Co. spokeswoman . Moore is famous for his ground breaking and controversial political documentaries. "Sicko" will be officially released in theaters on June 29th.
