Morgan Freeman has many amazing roles under his belt—he’s been God, the president of the United States, and Nelson Mandela—and now he has something else to add to his resume—master of ceremonies. Tonight’s broadcast of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric will have Freeman’s voice introducing Couric.

Before Freeman gave his voice to the project, the late Walter Cronkite announced Couric. Cronkite died six months ago, although his voice continued to be the one to announce the anchors to show respect to the great reporter.

The reason the network decided to switch to a new recording with Freeman’s voice is because now they can do special recordings for when Couric has a special assignment or on location.

According to an article from the AP, Freeman recorded the voiceover back in 2006, when Couric first received the CBS job, but his voice is only now going to be used.
