For fans of UK film in San Francisco, the Mostly British Film Festival runs in the city from February 2 to 9 in select theaters. The festival is presented by The San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation and The California Film Institute to bring unknown British films across the pond to American fans.
Audiences will have a choice of modern and retro productions from the UK, Ireland, Australia, and South Africa. These Commonwealth films represent some of the most dramatic work from the British Empire in the last 40 years. Some of the most anticipated films scheduled to be screened are: Perfect Sense starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, London Boulevard with Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley, and Route Irish by Ken Loach.
An all festival pass is available to see all films or tickets can be purchased for a single screening. San Francisco screenings are hosted at the historic Vogue Theater of San Francisco which is located in the Pacific Heights area. The theater is easy to get to on MUNI or by car. Parking near the Vogue Theater is available nearby at the Jewish Community Center on 3200 California Street. Those who live in San Rafael can watch screenings at the Smith Rafael Film Center.
