Mr. Blackwell In a Coma

The fashion maven, Mr. Blackwell, whose annual "Worst-Dressed" list can be the bane of Hollywood celebrities, is in a coma after falling at his home on Thursday, from what his partner and manager told Reuters.

The 85-year-old Blackwell has been at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles since Saturday, according to Robert Spencer. The former actor and fashion designer was moving his hands and blinking on Thursday and seemed to be coming out of his coma, Spencer went on to say.

Blackwell has issued his "Worst-Dressed" list for the past 48 years and has become watched around the world as much for his quips as for the stars' fashion and who made the list. Last year it was Spice Girl Victoria "Posh" Beckham who was named worst-dressed. He said she was "in one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty 'Posh' Beckham can really wreck-em," reported Reuters.

After Posh it was singer Amy Winehouse and just behind her was Mary-Kate Olsen who, he said, "resembles a tattered toothpick trapped in a hurricane." For 35 years the fashion maven has had his own clothing line. He was also a costume designer who worked with such stars as Jayne Mansfeild and Jane Russell, reported Reuters.
