MTV Movie Awards Go On

The MTV Movie Awards went off without a hitch, even after the fire at Universal Studios.

Tonight, the MTV Movie Awards went on anyway, despite the blaze that took out 40,000 rolls of film and three blocks of New York and London sets. Tonight already, Transformers has taken a golden popcorn trophy as the best film and Johnny Depp has won two golden buckets, one for best comedic performance and one as the best villain, according to the Associated Press.

Michael Bay, director of the best film was there to accept the award. Up there with him was costar Megan Fox who used some choice words to explain how amazing the film's sequel is going to be. The film, according to the director, Bay, is to start shooting tomorrow and be set two years after the first film, according to AP.

Also winning an award for best male performance was Will Smith for his role in I Am Legend as a post-apocalyptic survivor, according to Reuters. "I haven't always made great movies, but I've tried real hard," he said. "I've dedicated my life to creating and trying to do things that are different."

Ellen Page of Juno won the female trophy as a pregnant teen. "I got to be that lucky girl that played the incredible character," she said according to Reuters. In a new category, "best summer movie so far," Iron Man was able to land a golden popcorn bucket accepted by Robert Downey, Jr. along with his director Jon Favreau, said Reuters.
