Mulder and Scully Reunion
Super TV duo David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back with The X-Files after a long hiatus from extraterrestrial life forms and each other. Shooting is currently underway for the new movie based on the TV show, called The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
It is the second theatrical adaptation of the characters of Mulder and Scully, the first being The X-Files: Fight the Future in 1998. Three years after this movie, Duchovny (Fox Mulder) left the show, leaving Anderson (Dana Scully) to investigate unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena with new FBI companions, played by Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish.
The TV show was declared by TV Guide to be the second greatest cult television show, with Star Trek at number one. Though the show's popularity peaked in the mid-'90s, the magazine also rated the show the 37th best of all time.
The new film is due to be released in the United States on July 25, 2008.
