Music-Driven Movie for Sopranos' David Chase

Creator of hit show taking another direction

Paramount Pictures has announced that David Chase, creator and producer of The Sopranos, will be directing his first feature film.

The film, produced by Paramount Vantage, will be about a coming of age story set in the suburban 60s. The film will use music as a foil for telling the protagonist's story. Paramount Pictures Chair and CEO Brad Grey and President of Paramount Film Group Adam Goodman confirmed the production of the film today.

Chase wrote the original script and will produce the film with Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson. Johnson won an Academy Award for Best Picture for his work in Rain Main, and was also nominated in 1991 for Bugsy.

Grey told ComingSoon.net: "David Chase is one of our generation's great story-tellers. Our long friendship, and the experience of producing The Sopranos with him, remain among the great joys of my career."
