Musicians, the Dead, Stay One Step Ahead of Scalpers

Rockers, the Dead, come with a plan to get concert tickets into the right hands.

Reuters.com reports that the band, who are now planning to embark on a forthcoming tour, will auction off the best front row seats to their upcoming concerts to fans, in efforts to circumvent scalping. The proceeds from the auction with go to charity.

Tickets selected for the charity auction will be sold through the "Charity Folks" organization and all profits will go to the Rex Foundation Arts Charity. The group hopes to raise over $200,000.

This is the first tour that the Dead will have embarked on "since 2004," and shall commence on April 12, 2009 in North Carolina.
