My Emmy Nominations Part IV

In this edition I will give my nominations for lead actor in a comedy. Let me know what you think.

Jason Bateman- Really I could have named every male cast member for" Arrested Development," but I wanted to be able to nominate more people from other shows. I think Bateman's performance always goes a little underrated. Like Jenna Fischer, his comedy is subtle as well. He can make any scene funny, no matter who's on screen with him.

Larry David- I don't watch "Curb" very much, but my fiancee thinks he's the best actor alive. David says things that we only think in our heads and would never say out loud. But that is what makes it so funny.

Steve Carell- Michael Scott might be one of the most ridiculous characters on TV. He says highly inappropriate remarks, he's not very smart, he thinks he's gorgeous and he's in love with himself. If not for a brilliant performance on Carell's part, he might be the most hated character on TV. But that's the thing, Carell makes it work.

Zach Braff- Braff is definitely the reason "Scrubs" has hung around for so long, even without the viewers it deserves. JD is the most neurotic, lovable, funny character on television. Although, it needs to be said that JD would not be as lovable if not for the equally delightful Turk, played by Donald Faison.

Fred Goss- Did anybody even watch this show? It gets pretty annoying when shows like "Sons & Daughters" is cancelled and others like "According to Jim" get renewed. While some of the acting on this show was truly horrendous, Goss was a comedic gem. Sarcastic characters are always the most funny and the ones I enjoy the most.

On the bubble: Ricky Gervais, Josh Radnor and Jason Lee.
