MythBusters Kari Byron to Host Kids Show
You see her blow up stuff every week on MythBusters. Now, Kari Byron will use her skills to get middle schoolers into science. The new show’s first 30 episodes have already been shot, and it is called ‘Head Rush.’ The main purpose of the show is to motivate children to engage in more science-related activities.
"We wanted to come up with something that would kind of target that middle school aged kid," Byron said, "so that when they get out of school, [they don't] go home and stop learning. Instead, we'll trick them into learning science."
‘Head Rush’ will air every weekday on the Science channel from 4:00pm to 5:00 pm, and it will be offered commercial free. The show is part of President Obama’s STEM initiative, which aims at getting middle schoolers to improve their performance in Science and Math.
The series premieres on the Science Channel on Monday, August 23, at 4:00 pm.
