The N and Noggin Split

The N and Noggin are two very different networks, yet they occupy the same channel. Well it won't be that way for long, according to Reuters, the two networks are splitting up come the end of the year. Noggin is a commercial-free network for pre-schoolers, which features educational programming earlier in the day. The N is the more hip and cutting-edge tween and teen network that is on at night and ad-supported. With the tween market becoming a huge consumer base, it is only natural that the N expand to its own channel. The N will stay on the same channel, but Noggin will move to Nickelodeon's Games And Sports(GAS) channel. "(The N and Noggin) don't really match in terms of brands that are on one channel," Zarghami said. With the divide, each of the networks will be able to further develop programming for their niche. The networks will split on December 31st of this year.
