American Idol lost one of its strongest performers Wednesday, when 26-year-old Nadia Turner was sent home.
Although the blossoming diva had been a fan favorite thanks to her stellar voice and killer legs, it was her song choice for this weeks show that proved to be a fatal mistake. Contestants performed songs from the year they were born, and Turners rendition of the 1977 hit "When I Dream" garnered a negative reaction from the entire panel, Simon Cowell calling it an "appalling" song choice.
Turner shared the bottom three with the loveable Scott Savol, and much to the surprise of everyone, rocker Bo Bice whose performance of "Free Bird" left judge Paula Abdul convinced he would make it to the finals.
The performance of the night went to rocker Constantine Maroulis, whose rendition of the 1975 Queen classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the crowd to their feat with thunderous applause. Cowell called the performance "astonishing."
