Naomi Campbell Settles Dispute
Naomi Campbell has settled a lawsuit against a former housekeeper who claimed the model accosted her over a pair of jeans, reports People magazine. Gaby Gibson filed a lawsuit against Campbell in November 2006, accusing Campbell of mocking her speech and beating her for not finding a pair of jeans. In 2006, Gibson called Campbell a "violent super-bigot."
However, the suit has now been settled, and according to the Daily News, both sides are satisfied.
"Everybody's happy with the way it ended," said David Breibart, Campbell's lawyer.
This was not Campbell's first brush with the law. In 2005, another assistant claimed the model beat her with a BlackBerry personal organizer. In 2007, she pleaded guilty to assaulting Ana Scolavino, another maid, and was sentenced to five days community service and two days of anger management. More recently in 2008, she was arrested in Heathrow's Terminal 5 for assaulting a police officer.
