Nas to Pay Kelis $40,000 per Month in Child Support
A Los Angeles judge tells Nas to pay up.
A day after singer Kelis gave birth to their son, rapper Nas was ordered by an L.A. judge to pay his soon to be ex-wife $40,000 monthly report, according to court documents.
People.com reports that for now, Kelis will receive $30, $471 in spousal support per month, while son, Knight, will receive $9,027. L.A. Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger also mandated that Nas pay $45,000 for Kelis's attorney fees and other costs.
The "Milkshake" singer, who's real name is Kelis Rogers, 29, filed for divorce from 35-year-old Nas, real name Nasir Jones, in April. They had married in July 2003.
A hearing on whether or not the monthly payments should be changed is set for Sept. 8.
