Natalie Cole's Sister, Carole, Dies from Lung Cancer

Timolin Cole {Natalie Cole's sister} tells the New York Post that Nicole was at sister Carole's bedside when she received a call that a donor kidney was available to save her life.

"She said, 'What do you mean? I can't deal with that right now! I'm here with my dying sister!'" said Timolin. "And they said to her, 'No, ma'am. We've got to do it now. You've got to be at Cedars-Sinai in two hours.'"

"I told her, 'Natalie, this is God's gift, and you've got to go now. Cookie would want this for you.'"

Carole, nicknamed "Cookie," died amidst Natalie's surgery, from lung cancer, Timolin said. "This is all so surreal, and it is devastating."

Hepatitis C victim Natalie, who endures dialysis three times a week, came out of her surgery successfully and will be able to return home over the weekend.

"She's doing well," Timolin said, "and she's going to party like a rock star in no time."
