Natalie Portman Adds Music Video Star to Her Resume
In his new music video, Paul McCartney wants to appeal to a younger crowd, a goal he may accomplish by hiring Natalie Portman to star in the video of "Dance Tonight." The track, part of his new album, Memory Almost Full, premiered as a video Wednesday on YouTube.
The 25-year-old Israeli beauty is friends with Paul's daughter, Stella, who designs non-leather shoes for Natalie. Paul said that he decided to "ring her up and just see if she'll do it. So I rang her up and said, 'Hey, I'm Stella's dad!'" As if she didn't know who he was! The phone call must have gone well, for Natalie agreed to appear in the video as a ghost who is summoned by the sound of McCartney's mandolin. The futuristic video was directed by filmmaker Michel Gondry, whose credits include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The album will be released tomorrow in the U.S. by Hear Music, Starbuck's record label.
